Dog Kidz was founded in 2006 by owner, Sandra Blakley.  After searching the area unsuccessfully many times for the kind of safe, kind, and roomy care that she wanted for her own dogs, Sandra decided that she needed to open her own place to get it!  Our mission is to offer as much freedom and space to dogs as possible in a safe and secure environment. At the same time, dog parents are offered the assurance of an almost home care environment and their freedom to leave on vacation or just a golf game knowing their family member will be well taken care of. All staff members are first and foremost, dog lovers.

• Sandra Blakley, Owner
  Sandra has been a dog parent since the age of ten and has always been involved with dogs in one form or another. Dog Kidz has been her life long dream.  Sandra’s family is rounded out with Joey and Billy, two Miniature American Shepherds.
• Jim Sweeney, Property Manager 
  Jim is a transplant from Boston and loves being in the Florida sunshine. He and his wife are the proud parents of Lexi & Dollie, a pair of feisty Chihuahuas who run the household. Jim keeps Dog Kidz going with his constant repairs and improvements and is the Property Manager.
• Mahala Cooley,  Assistant Manager
  Mahala is an avid animal lover who has spent much of her life working in animal care. Her passion for dogs started at a very young age and has since gained experience in their care and behavior.
  She stays busy and entertained at home with her two dogs, a German Shorthaired Pointer puppy named Goose, and her Westie mix, Luna.
• Kathy Ridgway, Groomer
  Kathy has been grooming since she was eleven years old. Her parents were both professional groomers and they started her off early. She’s been grooming dogs ever since and with over 35 years of experience, Kathy has seen it all. Cookie, her Shih Tzu, and two chickens make up her household.
